I Won't Stand For Abuse!

Hello neighbors, I hope this finds you in a better mood than I am.

I can't stand men who think that they have a right to hit a woman because she doesn't conform to his every whim!.

This kind of attitude shouldn't be tolerated by any woman, not one.

Abusers only abuse the women who won't rear up and knock their heads off.

Does any of you remember Farrah Fawcett's movie "The Burning Bed?"  or do you remember Lorena Bobbit  [she had the right idea] chopping her husbands weenie off!

I'm sorry, I know violence isn't the answer, but sometimes you don't have a choice.

My best friend's daughter was abused yesterday. I couldn't get there in time enough with Bessie, my club. Rest assured, I would have whooped his ass for laying a finger on her just because he couldn't have his way.

This boy-man doesn't, work which means he doesn't contribute to the household.

Now grant it, it's her fault for allowing him to lay up in her apartment and letting him  think he's some kind of "black" Adonis and God's gift to woman-kind.

I'm here to tell her and every other woman on earth: NO PIECE OF PECKER is worth loosing your self respect!   None! Nada! Zilch!

Do you ladies here me! I am SCREAMING!  this from the top of my lungs.

Do NOT think that the value of your self worth is based on having a man around. It isn't.

There is nothing wrong with being by yourself.

If you get lonely for male company fine, go out with someone then send him on his merry way. Don't just jump into a relationship when you know nothing about the man.

Men will tell you anything in order to get what they want. Now a days so many can't find jobs so, they look for a woman [usually with kids] who has just a little bit of something and get her to let him move in.

Younger ladies with children who don't work, usually are  have government assistance. These ladies are the ones who are the prime targets.

She gets food stamps, government assisted housing and other assistance. So, some lazy, low life, gutter trash, thinks: Wow  I've got me a mark, I'll sweet talk and woo her so she'll let me move out of my Momma's house into hers.

Then after the honeymoon phase is over and the lady realizes that the bum won't look for a job or can't keep a job, THEN  things turn ugly and abusive.

Well, guess what, now she's got a problem. He's thinking he's King of the castle. He's thinking she's his Momma only with her he gets to poke his pecker when ever he wants [he probably can't do that right either].

Tell me something ladies -- is all that worth it? I  don't think so.

If you get that  lonely or [excuse my bluntness] that  horny -- buy a toy with extra batteries!  Don't sell your self-respect to the devil and live with an abuser.

You are not a bunching bag. You are not a sparring dummy. You are not to be choked, kicked, spit on or slapped by ANYONE!

Do you all hear me!

Look in the mirror and tell yourself: "I'm beautiful, I'm a good person, I deserved to be treated like a Queen."

Don't take any crap from any body. I mean it, don't you dare lay down and be a door mat for anyone.

My house is a one woman Queendom and there is no room for a King -- this is how I CHOOSE to live and I LOVE IT!

Now, you all go make the right choice for yourself and your children.

Don't let  yourself down. . .

Whatcha Been Up to Neighbor?

Hello everyone, hope this finds you well.

Things around here have been hectic, maybe a better word would be chaotic.

Have you noticed that I've been all by my lonesome as of late?

Well, this is what's happened -- my son being the irresponsible 28 year old brat that he is, landed in jail. Yes, you read right, in jail.

It seems he had a couple of open warrants on his head. One for failure to appear for jail and the other for failure to report in to his probation officer.

Now, don't jump to conclusions. My son isn't a hardened criminal. He just doesn't see the point in obeying traffic laws.

This is a lesson everyone should learn from my dear, darling, dolt of a child. When you get a traffic ticket  -- pay the fine[s]! If you don't, they will suspend your license and put a warrant out for you. When they catch you they'll slap on the silver bracelets and take you for a ride to a big building where you can wear orange jump suits.

And, if you're caught while driving with a suspended license, you'll get more fines and more jail time and get to wear -- you guessed it, bright orange colored jump suits!

So, do what you're suppose to do, obey the traffic laws and you won't have any  problems -- OKAY, okay!

Do I sound/read happy to you? Well, in case you're wondering I'm not!

Remember that fancy-dancy phone, I bought for my dunder-head -- well, it's mine now.

This is how I look at it -- he doesn't have a job [although he's graduated from college and is  looking for one] so, I paid for the phone and everything else for that matter, including his fines.

So, I figured one way for him to pay me back is to give me that phone, I've been coveting.

Yes indeed, I took it while his away visiting the county and switched it over to my number and have made it MINE!

Am I bad? No, I don't think so, and if I am well, he'll get over it!

Hey, did you hear about the free $1000 food scam. . .

Greetings From Down The Street!

How's eveybody doing?

Look at the pictures I found of my  baby ===>

He's 2 years old in these pictures. Now, he's 28! Man! did time fly!

Here's a picture my Dad sent me. He went to a seminar where Judge Toler spoke. You know Judge Toler -- Divorce Court on T.V.

He's so proud!

Me, I'm doing great.

Went to the VA doctor the other day and all my test game back great.

I'll tell ya,  Diabetes is no joke. When your sugar is uncontrolled all kinds of nasty things happen. No, I'm not talking about just threats of heart attacks or strokes or blindness.

You can break out in blisters and large bumps that burst. It's gross and no fun.

Any way enough of the yuck.

Have you ever looked for something in a place where you know you put it then, when you go to get it -- it's not there!

Well, I've been looking for a Cheerleading picture I know I had from High School and can't find it. I've been going buggy looking for that picture.

I found my best friend from High School on Classmates dot com. We found out that she lives down here near me. Of course we got together for a brunch and I wanted to take that picture to show her.

Wouldn't you know, I can't find the darn thing.

She looks like she did in High School. Yes, a little older but, she doesn't have the white stuff all through her hair like I do.

It was so good seeing her. Now we're together again. We won't break out into a cheer or anything like that -- I'd throw something out of whack if I did.

We talked about kids and other people from out graduating class. It's amazing how time flies!

Now we're in touch on Facebook too.

So, what have you guys been up to this past week?

Did you hear about the old lady who beat a fawn to death? A baby deer, I can't believe. . .

Good Sunday Morning!

I hope this finds you doing well.

It's been a dreary weekend -- hasn't it!

Look at my girlfriends two cuties. They're always up to something!

They are adorable and bad. The love to eat and I mean they eat everything -- shirts, the couch, the steps, shoes and yes, food.

Well, my Uncle's funeral is over. Wouldn't you know that things were happening with my mother that no one bothered to tell me about. My Mom accused someone in the hotel that they were staying of breaking into their room and stealing her jewelry. Dad tried to explain to her that her jewelry was left back home in Arizona.

My poor Dad, he's at wits end.

I don't know if I've told you, but Mom suffers from Dementia. She can be a bit feisty at times. I only hear what my Dad tells me.

Oh, didn't I tell you, they live way out in Arizona so, I don't see them. We, the family, all live here in Ohio or mainly the Northeast  yet, they chose to move out there. With them up in age we, back here, tend to worry about them.

It seems Mom is on a roll. She accuses people of stealing from her. She swears that her neighbor tries to break into their house and steal their crystal.

So, Mom, hid the crystal and Dad couldn't find it.

There was the time she was at the hairdressers and she accused her stylist of stealing her money. Wouldn't you know -- uh...Mom got violent and popped the lady. They had to call Dad and demand that he come and get her.

I asked Dad the other day:
wouldn't it be easier on you if you'd move back home?
Of course Dad started griping:
Where would be live?
I said:
Dad, they have houses in Ohio too

Then he started complaining about Ohio weather. He's right, Ohio weather isn't the greatest.

Like today, the sky is sad and weeping. It's always in this depressed weather mood.

Any way -- I don't know what to do about Mom. They won't move back here. I have my own health issues and no money, PLUS I've got my son whose view on life comes from another planet. So it wouldn't be prudent to leave, let alone pack up and move out there.

Well, so, how's your weekend?

Knock -- knock...

...who's at my door this early in the morning?

Neither the Cardinals or the Robins have started their wake-up songs at this time of morning.

Why. . .  Good morning! You've smelled the coffee I was brewing -- didn't you.

You know I'm an early bird.

I don't sleep well so, why stay in bed -- I might as well get up and do something useful.

It was a strange and irritating day yesterday.

I've got an even stranger question: "Why do these food manufacturers package their goods in these easy to open packages that aren't easy to open? Isn't that misleading?"

Really, look

These are suppose to be easy to open packages and I still have to use a knife of scissors to open them -- something's wrong with that picture.

Look at the re-closable cheese packages -- they rip when you tear open where it says: "tear open"  -- you can't use them and have to put them in a baggie.

If you think about it -- they jack up the price of the item for packaging so, they're telling a lie when they say it's easy to open -- right. Didn't they use to call that false advertising?  Can I sue?

Okay, so, I'm on a roll today -- sorry!

Anywho!

I went to the Chiropractor and he used this benign looking table to bend and twist me in ways I haven't bend or twist in years. You know I'm like an old stale pretzel -- crumbling if you look at me wrong.

Any way, after I got home and was sitting in my usual spot [here in front of the computer] my son came and asked me the strangest question.

He said "Mom, I didn't know Mandy had two kids" I'm thinking yes she does, but why is he asking about her.

Just as I got up to ask him what I was thinking, low and behold the front door opens and in comes hurricane Mandy carrying her darling Queen Elizabeth and right behind her toddled her son AJ.

I was in shock -- She's never come visit me.

Who is she -- Oh, sorry, she's my best friend's [beside you, of course] youngest daughter.

She says: "Miss Debbie I'm stressed. My boyfriend is getting on my nerves. I've got to be out of my apartment by the end of the month, and W.I.C gave me the wrong milk coupon for Elizabeth"

Look, this girl doesn't breath between sentences, her mouth is M-16 caliber and fully loaded. She's the only person that I know on the planet that can shut my son up. Neither he nor anybody else gets a word in edge wise -- believe me!

I said: "Breath Mandy breath -- you can't think straight when you're stressed"

Mandy: "But I'm stressed, I'm so stressed -- I don't know what to do"

Well she went on and on for about half an hour. She told me about how she has to get out of her condo by the 30th of this month. The new owner won't take Section 8.

I knew she was on section 8 for low income or no income people for housing, but man alive the government allows her to rent a house or an apartment for up to [are you ready] $1050 a month.

Can you believe that!

I'm all for helping people get on their feet but GHEESH  why do they get to live better than I do?

Come on now, this is like rewarding people for uncontrolled procreation.

Just spit babies out and you get a nice house and food to feed them [along with the no good, slovenly male, living with you.]

I worked all my life, at a great paying job, and never could I afford that.

Don't get me started on this soap box. However, I will tell you, I do resent the fact that I worked hard all my life and couldn't afford to pay that kind a rent. A rent which would have put me in a nice neighborhood.

I raised my child off the sweat of my brow.

But, NO! -- all I had to do was lay down and spread my.....

Good Starry Evening

It's so close to bed time -- I thought I'd stop by and say -- hey!

I've been working on my other blogs today: "forgive my naughty ignoring of you."

I started a new blog BabyBoomer Nest check it out one day.

AnyWho!

I do want to show some pictures of my two or three sweet babies.

They're the good babies they never talk back they just stare at you.

Oh, my young cousin still isn't doing well, her sugar is back up to 500 -- not good!

Well, I think I'm going to go and let my eyes watch the back of their lids.

See y'all in the morning~

Hello People!

Drama in the Old Neighborhood

Looks like I missed a day of blogging and COFFEE.

Well, not quite -- I have other blogs to attend to. Things like this happen when you're disabled and have a difficult time getting around.

I visited the old neighborhood yesterday. Of course I wasn't disappointed. There's always drama in the "hood"

Not  long after I pulled up in my friend's driveway, we heard all these sirens blaring.

We went to find out what was going on, low and behold there were 5 police cars, 1 EMS truck and 1 Fire Engine. I never found out exactly what was going on, but people were milling about like something dramatic happened.

It never fails there's always something going on in the ghetto. If the helicopter is buzzing around you'll always find police cars lurking about.

I'm so glad to be gone from there.

I don't know what it is about "some" poor people -- I  reiterate the word "some"  are always surrounded by drama. From my experience many of these people have no respect for the space of other people. What's happened to common courtesy and social graces?

You know what I mean -- they blast their music, as if they think the rest of the world wants to hear. Or they talk loud as if what they have to say is of interest to passers by.

Worst yet, some don't watch their children. I'm talking about 3 to 6 year old kids. These kids will be all over the place especially, in other peoples yards and driveways.

What part of "I am not watching or putting up with your children"  isn't understood.

Speaking of kids -- Monday I had to drive up north to see about my younger cousin. She's 10. She's diabetic like me. Her mother has MS and drinks more than she should so, you know what that means. It means that she doesn't think right and can't make good decisions.

Anyway, My cousin and her girls live with her mother,  my Aunt. My Aunt had gone to Chicago for my Uncles funeral, you remember I wrote about that earlier.

Well, she hadn't returned yet when my young cousin's sugar became dangerously high and she was hospitalized. My other Aunt told me that her sister was frantic because she was afraid for her granddaughter and that she was 8 hours away. She knows that her daughter is now forgetful and isn't cognitively useful during times like this.

My 73 year old Aunt has custody of both the younger girls plus she loves them.

I promised that I would drive up and look into the situation. Both Aunts wanted someone who has some iota of sense -- why they think I do, is beyond me.

Any way, I jumped in the car and took off.  When I arrived at the hospital. My baby cousin seemed to be doing fine. Her sugar was down in the 200s. I know that's still high but it beats being in the 700s.

Her mother was there and fairly lucid -- I was surprised!

I stayed for a couple of hours and talked to the doctors and nurses. I still can't figure out why they're having so much of a problem with the insulin pump they have my cousin on.

The pump seems more confusing than just loading a needle and injecting yourself.

I left and made it back home just after dark. I don't like driving in the dark, my eyes don't work well and inanimate objects seem to jump in the way at times.

So, what did you guys do while I was gone?

Did you get your coffee fix?

"Hey, let's go to Speedway and get some coffee, theirs is better than mine. I can't figure what..."

It's Monday Already!

Wow! The weekend just flew by!

How are you this gorgeous morning?

Me, I'm doing just fine and dandy!

I just got back from the eye Doctor. Needless to say, I'm half blind!. With my Diabetes and Sjogrens Syndrome I stay at the eye Doctors more than usual.

One thing about the VA, they have taken wonderful care of me.

Look at this picture^^ see how far away I was when I took it.That's how far I had to walk. Now, you know, my legs and hips don't work!

Isn't that a nice building. They just built it last year for the Veterans. It still isn't a full functioning hospital, it's ambulatory, but it's better than the small clinic we were in.

I still can't figure out why Columbus,  the capital of Ohio, doesn't have a full fledged hospital? That just boggles my mind.

It's a good thing that the VA provides those modified gulf carts to come around and pick up people to take them to and from the building. I told the man:

"I almost went home because I couldn't find a parking spot!"

That's all I would need is to fall down out there in front of everyone.

You do know, I have done just that!

What!

I've never told you that I'm a disabled Veteran. Oops, must have slipped my mind.

Yes, I am. I've been around the world twice. I've lived in Turkey, Germany and Korea. I've visited Italy, Greece, France, Luxemburg, Belgium, Litchenstein, and Austria.

World traveler -- that's me!  I'll have to find some pictures and show them to you.

Yesterday, I actually cooked a meal that was pretty tasty. That's right, NO charcoal crispy meat. It was pretty good, if I don't say so myself.

We had roast and potatoes, and broccoli with cheese.

I use these spices

 Here's everything I use

Here's the finished product -- No burn or scorch marks!

My son thought he'd died and gone to heaven, not a burnt spot anywhere!

So, how's your morning been?

My Uncle's funeral was this morning, I'm going to have to call and see how things went.

I hope my Aunt Ola, didn't get ugly. She's special that way. She doesn't like anything or anybody and doesn't have a problem letting people know that.

I think everyone has someone like that in their family -- don't you?

Sorry, no coffee this morning, I stopped by Speedway before my appointment. Then it was off to TeeJay's after the appointment.

I had a chance to read the Dispatch...

They're still focusing on the young girl who ran away from home because she thought her parents were going to kill her.

What do you think about that, me well...

Wonderful Sunday Morning...

to you, you and, you!

Don't be so sad! I know that it's a sad day here in Buckeyedom. Yes, I know,  the Buckeyes lost a tough one last night.

You know what I don't understand: why during the College Football season, if a school loses one game their rankings are down the porcelain throne.

I mean really! Their chance at a national championship is flushed down the hole right along with it.

For college football season  to be non-pro, their rankings certainly are  more complicated.

I'm glad I'm not big on football. Don't get me wrong I watch it, but I don't live and die for it. Around here people go into mourning when the Buckeyes loose.

They might as well put black flags up on their doors as if  the grim reaper has come to visit.

Go figure!

I want to ask you; do you think sleeplessness runs in families? I ask because my Uncle just called me and told that my one Aunt stays up all night just rummaging through her house. She decides to clean or move things or paint walls or...

She sounds as if she and my son should live together. They can drive each other nuts.

My other Aunt is up there with her, had to leave and go to a hotel because her sister wouldn't let her or anybody else get any sleep last night.

No, shes not being like this because of the funeral she's like this all  the time.

Her and James really need to be together that way the rest of us normal people [guffaw] can get some rest.

I'm putting in a roast. I should have put it in the crock pot earlier but I've been fooling around with you guys. So, the oven it is.

It's not going to be a difficult dinner. I'll throw the roast in then when it's half way done, I'll throw in  the potatoes.

I may fry up some cabbage. I love fried cabbage don't you?

Would you like to stay for dinner, there'll be plenty.

You know how ol' school I am.

For Sunday dinners the front door is always open. Why not bring some peach cobbler or maybe you could make your delicious Granny Smith green apple pie.

Oh I know, I'm hunger'n for a hunk of Red Velvet...

Hey Friends

Look up^ at this picture,  listen -- this is what happens when you fall asleep while cooking. Don't do that! Charcoal crispy boneless pork-chops are not appetizing!

So, I hope this finds everyone doing well.

I'm a bit sleepy today. My son decided he couldn't sleep so, that means the rest of the household wasn't going to sleep either.

He's a 28 year-old MAN for goodness sake! It seems I still have a baby on my hands.

Any way, my family all have all headed up to Chicago for my Uncle's funeral. The viewing is set for Sunday and the services are set for Monday.

There's no way I can make the trip. I've been suffering from these migraines for a week now.

It's strange how when I get my sugar and blood pressure under control, something else pops up.

Don't you find that goofy?

I know my Aunt must feel pretty good getting everyone together even though it's for a funeral. It's always nice to see family you haven't seen in a while.

Here everything's been quiet. Nothing new going on.

Oh my! Did you hear!

Mayor Coleman has told the city that  they are to work out a settlement for the young man who was falsely accused of murdering his twin brother.

You remember that story...don't you?

Police found a bloody palm print on the window sill of the murdered twin's room. They automatically concluded that it was his brothers. Well, after months of the accused twin being in jail, they found out that the palm prints wasn't his!

There's still no leads as to who did murder the young man. It's really sad he was college bound on a scholarship.

There's not enough money in the world to make up for what that young man went through.

Sorry no coffee...got up this morning and went to Speedway. Their coffee is better than mine.

Are you going to watch the Buckeyes? They're playing aren't...

Reminiscing about the day America Cried.

 No, We Will Not Forget

Good morning dear friend, Where are your thoughts today?

Me, I'm just remembering where I was, what I was doing and what I was thinking on "Black Tuesday"  the day America cried.

That day seems almost like yesterday.

I was up at Kent State sitting in my car studying for a test. The radio was tuned to WNIR [my favorite talk station] when, there was a news bulletin -- "a plane just crashed into one of the twin towers" the newscaster said.  Read More

Go Blogger, Go Blogger

Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies -- don't you just want to bite into one!

Hiya neighbor!

How are you this fine morning -- me, I'm doing pretty good today.

On yesterday's post I tried to upload some pictures and kept getting a failed error. Blogger got right on it and fixed the problem.

Go Blogger, Go Blogger -- you guys/gals rock!

See those cookies up there^ well, I can have a couple! You know I have a wicked sweet tooth so, going without a cookie or a piece of cake or a piece of pie or...isn't an option, it's mandatory for my piece of mind!

My Landlord stopped by yesterday to check on how the roofers did -- he seemed pleased. His next project is new gutters. I love living in a well kept up house.

Columbus is moving forward with its beautifying neighborhood projects. They're getting dilapadated houses sold or torn down. The ones that are sold the new owners are fixing them and making them presentable.

It's a great idea but, when you move people into these updated homes and they haven't a clue as to how to keep them looking good -- well you find your neighborhood back in the same position it was.

Some people just don't care -- I call people like this hood-rats or ghetto-mutts. Either way it's a shame they're that under-educated they can't take care of the home in which they live..

So, what's new with you?

I've been spending quite a bit of internet time on FaceBook. I finally got my friend Mary to sign up. She posts lots and lots of family pictures on her page.

Right now, I'm looking for ways to up my blog readership and getting people to make comments. It's not an easy task. Most people just like to read and see what people are writing about.

Coffee? I'll make some. I went to Speedway early this morning for my java fix but, I'd be more than happy to make you some.
You have to go to the Doctor? Would you like me to take you?

Sure I don't mind...

Hump Day -- I'm reading...

one of my favorite authors, Jayne Anne Krentz writing under the name Amanda Quick. I love her books -- she has a wonderful sense of humor, nothing over the top just writes things that make you chuckle. Nora Roberts is another of my favorites.

Oh by the way hello, come on in. Today's a great day.

James has started an internship at a nursing home. He's very excited and so am I. He's feeling pretty good about himself. It isn't easy for him to stay on task but, he managed to do so through this course he's taking. Now, he's about to graduate!

Oh boy, I'm thrilled!

I'm feeling much better than I had been. My sugar is under control and so is my blood pressure.  If all else fails, pay attention to your food intake.

Diabetes is nothing to play around with. I knew that it can mess with your eyes but, I never thought that I'd break out with blisters and this nasty huge bumps!

You want to talk about gross, they were gross!

Coffee, tea, oatmeal...

Did you hear about the man who had the stand off with police up near Ohio State? That man had a death wish, which by the way, was granted.

I'll never understand people who are so despondent that they'll take their own lives and try and take others with them. It's a sad state to be in.

Well, the family is gathering up in Chicago for Uncle Bill's funeral. It's a shame that the only time we get together is when someone dies. Family should be closer than that.

I cooked some chicken wings last night -- pretty tasty, if I don't say so myself .

Today is left-over day. I still can't muster up energy to cook everyday.

So, what's on your menu tonight...

What a dreary Monday!

Who's that knocking at my door?

Well, hey neighbor -- what a ray of sunshine on this otherwise dreary day.

Yes, it is a dreary Monday. It's cloudy out and looks like it's going to rain.

To put a topper on that I went out to take pictures and my camera broke. I haven't had that camera very long and now it doesn't work.

Then I decided to use my backup camera [the camera phone] and the battery went dead.

Pardon for sounding cliche but, when it rains it pours. This is one of those days when nothing seems to want to go right.

I just tried to scan some old pictures I found and I'm screwing that up too.

Wait a minute...I'll figure this out -- if all else fails READ THE DIRECTIONS.

Oh boy, like I said "dreary Monday -- nothing's working. I had pictures when we were up at Plattsburgh Air Force Base. I can't seem to get them uploaded.

Didn't I tell you that I was in the military? Sorry I must have forgot.

I'll never forget when James was about 6 or 7 he was at his God-Mother's house. They were about to sit down for dinner. Some kind of beef dish was on the menu.

James looked at her and said " God-Mommy, your meat isn't like my Mom's meat."

God-Mommy; " Well, how do you mean baby?"
James; "Mommy's meat is like bubble gum -- you got to keep chewing and chewing and..."

Of course...this is a picture I DIDN'T take --go figure!

I still chuckle when I think of that. What comes out of the mouths of babes can be priceless!

Enough is enough for this blue Monday. I better quit while I'm ahead.

Sorry, I didn't get the coffee perk'n either!

Maybe tomorrow -- hopefully....

Happy Saturday...sorta!

I say sorta because my Uncle passed away yesterday. So, in that respect it's a sad Saturday. He's leaving behind 3 grandchildren and a whole slew of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

My Aunt is heart broken. I would be too, they've been together over 50 years.

Otherwise, it's absolutely gorgeous today.

I see the neighbor across the street is barbecuing -- probably ribs and chicken. Doesn't the thought make your mouth water -- does mine.

The other neighbor on the left has let the puppies out with their Mom. Man, have they grown and are just adorable. I guess they couldn't get them all sold. I think they were asking a bit much for dogs with no papers. But hey, what do I know.

My son's phone was due for its upgrade from Verizon. It's a pretty good deal: a $400.00 phone for a little over $100.00.

I'm the one who should have that  phone NOT  him. See, this is what happens when you spoil them young -- they never grow out of it.

Yes, I have a spoiled brat-man on my hands and I'm dearly, paying for it. There's no one to blame but myself now, is there.

The most important advice I can give to parents of young children -- learn how to use that dreaded one syllable word N-O. Just say it, it's easy... NO! You won't regret.

Well...breakfast is over, my sugar is good and...the Cardinals are swooping around the flowerless hydrenga bush -- what's new with you?

Brownie says...

"I'm getting to old for this"

 "Me too -- daaahlink"

My poor old man is 15 years old and so is Princess.

Did you hear all the banging and clanging coming from my house?

It was the roofers. My LandLord had a new roof put on. Later on this week he's having new gutters put on.

I just love my LL. They're great people.

In fact, I love this street. Most of the houses are well kept and the lawns are manicured. It's nice living in a descent neighborhood -- don't you think?

But, poor Brownie and Princess, they didn't like all the noise. Princess [my cat] hid under the bed but, Brownie [poor guy] is way to big to crawl under there.

Well, my son James is discouraged. He spent quite a bit of time going to school learning to be a Certified Medical Assistant. When he went to do his externship he got a shock.

The people there weren't too nice. In fact they were just plain old mental midget bigots.

I really hate to inform the bigots of the world but, not everyone with dark skin has a single digit IQ. Honest we don't!

Yes, indeed mental, social, and moral bankruptcy has NO color or racial boundaries. They all have an idiot or two or three or four or...

It's a shame-- isn't it. America is the greatest country in the world but, still seems to be the most racist. Yes, we've got a country full of knuckle-dragging morons.

Well, to a nicer subject -- sorta.

I met a lady in Walmart the other day. She told me how she had lost 103lbs. She's diabetic like I am and her Doctor told her if she'd loose the weight it would help her diabetes.

She lost the weight and looks fabulous. She was very uplifting.

Yes, I know, I've got to watch what I eat. Not only watch but eat in moderation.

You know, I really do hate measuring out food and reading labels.

Speaking of reading labels. I learned that even though a product says it's low in fat and calories doesn't mean it's low in sugar. As a matter of fact low-fat products seem to have MORE sugar than the regular.

Really, I'm not kidding. Taste 1% Milk, it tastes sweeter than 2% or whole milk. Also, low-fat salad dressing has more sugar than the regular,  I was really surprised.

So,why don't you come on  in and sit a while. l'm making sausage and waffles for breakfast. Yes, I can have waffles [only two] with sugar free syrup which, doesn't taste bad at all.

It sure is gorgeous out today. Did you hear about...

Hey How's it Going...

GORGEOUS FLOWERS...aren't they!

Here, well the roofers are here to make noise.

So, when you get here park on the street they have a dumpster in my driveway.

I'm truly blessed to have a Landlord that cares about his properties. So many of the Landlords in Columbus are flat out "SLUM LORDS" which, irks to me to no end.

They just wait around with their hands out for the rent check and never, I mean never, put money back into their properties.

I understand that some tenants are garbage and tear up the residence but, I place partial blame on the LLs because they aren't interested in putting quality tenants in their buildings.

Since Ohio is considered a LandLord state they get away with renting out slum buildings.

I came from a place like that. My old LL were okay, they kept our building up very nice but, the surrounding buildings were owned by "SLUM LORDS" The only people they would put in their buildings were "hood-rats" you know the people I mean, the ones who's vocabulary only consisted one syllable words and have tons of bay-bay kids running loose in the neighborhood.

I'm sorry but I don't put up with bay-bay kids. They know me as the "mean-lady" who goes after uneducated and socially bankrupt parents.

Hey, live how you want but, don't force your lifestyle down my throat I have NO problem regurgitating it right back at you.

So, how are you today. I'm a bit tired. I went shopping yesterday and as you know doing a lot of walking wears me out. My hips and legs let me know under no uncertain terms that I did too much.

I find that shopping for the whole month is the best way to go for me. If I shop for a week at a time I never buy enough food and wind up running out at the end of the month.

Did you see the show Cops the other night? I'm tell'n ya some of these people that they stop are dumb, dumb, DUMB! This one man they stopped said he was on his way to work. They Cop asked him "well...if you're on your way to work why are you pants on backwards" I howled!

Needless to say the man was drunker than a skunk!

I really can't stand drunks. They hurt other people and don't realize it. Never ever, drink and drive. If you must drink STAY HOME!

Alright, enough for now, I'm off to my girlfriends house, she's babysitting her granddaughter.

I get to go get some slobbery kisses from a gorgeous five month old.

Till next time...see ya later alligator after a while crocodile!

Good Morning Good People!

A stray...isn't he beautiful.

I hope this finds everyone doing well.

I spent the morning outside chopping bush branches -- I wore myself out. I have a couple of Rose-of-Sharon bushes, a lovely Rose bush, Morning Glories and of course my Four O'Clocks . The Hummingbirds really like the Four O'Clocks.

The neighbor kids were outside with the puppies, they all are just adorable.

There are stray cats running loose in the neighborhood. I feel bad for them. I wish people would just not get pets if they're not going to take of them.

Cats shouldn't be allowed to freely roam. Neither should dogs. Animals don't know any better and they depend on us to take care of them. I love animals so, I get irritated with people who mistreat them.

Never do I feed stray cats. Why? Well because when you leave food out other critters come to eat too.

Raccoons like cat food. The only problem with raccoons is they get into everything. They will tear up everything but, most importantly they do carry rabies. You don't want your family pets to come in contact with a rabid raccoon.

As a matter of fact you don't want your dog or cat to have a run in with a raccoon because they just might loose the battle.

But some people abandon their pets and that just pisses me off.

I think the cat above was abandoned because he's not afraid of people. So, that tells me he's been domesticated.

Poor thing looked hungry.

Hey, would you like a-cup-a-joe it'll warm you up. It got cold last night, down in the 50s. That's too cold for the end of August. I wonder if this means an early winter.

I sure hope this doesn't mean a bad winter-- I hate the cold.

Football season's here...who are you rooting for?

Good Afternoon Folks

My hummingbird's favorite bush.

Why he's trying to get the nectar while the flower's closed is beyond me

Close  your mouths, I know you're shocked that I'm actually posting something to this blog.

I do apologize for my helter skelter blog posts.

Not to make excuses, well hell, yes I am. I've been under the weather over here around the corner from you.

I have such a laundry list of ailments but, I won't bother you with the details. Suffice it to say I'm up and running for now.

We've got new neighbors who've moved in. I must say I was a tad bit worried about who was moving in. This isn't an upscale neighborhood but we aren't slum ghetto either.

It only takes one family to move in and make a nicely quiet and pleasant street turn into hell on earth. So far the  new neighbors are quiet.

I always say a good neighbor is a neighbor you NEVER hear and rarely see. So far so good.

I know I posted a picture of my hummingbirds in the previous post. I just wanted to add that I find it funny that my hummers seem to show up in August and September. I know that they'll migrate south at the middle of September or the end. So, I'm wondering where they've been June and July.

Oh, I forgot to mention: last month I was coming home from the store. When I turned down my street there was a swat team fully dressed staking out a neighbor's house.

Needless to say my mouth dropped open. I slowed down to a crawl  and wondered if I should duck.

Nothing happened, no gun shots, no people being dragged out and thrown to the ground.  I can't tell you what the hoopla was about we didn't see a thing.

Well that's it for now, till next time...

Hello!

My hummingbird came to visit

Long time no blog.

Yes, I'm still here around the corner not to far from you.

I've been having medical issues which makes it kind of hard to keep up with my blogs.

I hope this finds everyone in good health and good spirits.

Here's some pics I hope you enjoy.

There's not much to tell at this moment but I will be checking in more frequently.

Hey How Are You?

Ophelia the Opossum

Roger the Ruby Throat

Me, things are just as wacky as before.

Lynda Jr. called me yesterday. She wanted to share what happened at her court hearing. You remember, she had me do all that typing of "court papers" for her.

I couldn't make out much of what she was saying. I caught the words/phrases -- conspiracy, illegal, not competent, well, you get the drift.

I asked her what was the Judge's judgment and she said "I don't know". I said "What do you mean you don't know?" I wouldn't have left that court room without a judgment.

Now, she thinks someone is following her.

She really needs to stay away from the booze and pain killers. Her brain is fried!

How's things going with you?

I'm glad summer is around the corner. Roger the Ruby Throat should be back soon.

How'd ya like the picture of Ophelia? A mug only a mother could love.

Well, breakfast time, would you like to stay? Blueberry pancakes are on the menu...

Goodmorning Sunshine!

SUNRISE

MOONLIGHT caught by my cell phone camera.

Come on in, sit, sit! Coffee?

Isn't this a gorgeous day. The sun is shining bright, your Beagle with his rollie pollie self, is bellowing at the birds.

Have you noticed that there's quite a bit of nature traffic in these parts? I couldn't believe it when I saw a Ground Hog sunning himself on my backyard deck.

I wasn't sure how I felt when the Hawk banged up against my house catching one of my little birds. Well, as they say, the cycle of life is in constant motion.

Columbus is a big city. Acre-wise, it spreads out more than most big cities. You can tell that back in the day it was a huge farmland area.

Remember the Lyndy-twins I spoke about earlier? Well...they came back. Much to my chagrin. Lynda Jr. is under the impression that I'm her personal assistant or office manager.

No, I'm not, I was being nice typing up her paper work. If she's crazy enough to represent herself in court well...I tried to help her out.

Anyway, what makes her think that she's going to get half that man's money? They didn't live together as man and wife [and wanted me to lie and say they did] so, what does she think she's entitled too.

You know, those two are sneaky as boll-weevils in a cotton field.

How are things with you and your family? Are the kids working? I know I shouldn't call them kids but, you did spit them out so no matter how old they are they're still your kids.

Mine? Well, he's actually in school now. It's about time! He's going on 30 years old and now decides what he wants to do in life.

I'm wondering if I dropped him on his head too much. I've said it before and I'll say it again, his lights are on but nobody's home.

Okay, it's time to get out and do some spring clean-up. I'm thinking about planting a hummingbird garden. My hummer should be back sometime at the end of May.

Be talk'n to ya.

Hello Neighbor!

Did you miss me? I've been pretty busy these last couple of days. Busy and aggravated.

Since I moved down here to Columbus I feel as if I've entered another dimension, you know like the Twilight Zone where everything, everyone is off kilter.

People down here seem to have a different twist on the definition of logic. Their logic in no way coincides with mine.

For instance, I have an acquaintance, I refuse to call her a friend. Who comes to me to ask for help. Sometimes it's advice, or she'll need a pack of smokes, you get my meaning.

Any way, she comes to me for help and I freely give, as best I can, the help requested.

Well the other day I needed help. My car is broken down and I needed to run down to the computer store on Main Street. It take five minutes to get there by car.

I called my friend and asked if she would take me.

She said "Sure I'll take you" then said "I'll be over after I'm down shopping". Well, guess what, that was four days ago.

The way I was raised, if you don't want too or can't do what you say you're going to do, TELL the person NO, I can't. Don't leave them hanging waiting around for you.

She's not the only one like that and it mystifies me.

Well any how, how've you been. Spring seems to have sprung. I can't wait to get out and start planting. I want to make my yard Hummingbird friendly.

I have a Ruby Throat Hummer, who visits regularly during the summer. He let me walk right up on him and didn't flinch.

Okay, I'll talk at you later. Stay safe. You do know that home invasions are up.

Here, take some Chocolate Cookies with you. They're fresh out of the oven.

Oh and if you like Yanni, he's coming to the Convention Center sometime in June. His music is different but, I find it soothing.

Yes, that's right, not all Black people like that rap crap. Give me Beethoven or Bach any day.

Good Morning Neighbor

How are you this fine sunny morning?

It's a bit chilly out but, the sun is shining bright and nature's chorus is loudly in tune.

Robbie Raccoon was running a bit late this chilly dawn. He scampered across the yard, seemed in a big hurry to get home.

I wasn't quick enough to run out and get a picture of him. Even when they hop-along they're still faster than I am.

I don't know about you but, I do prefer my four legged neighbors more than I do my two legged ones.

I know, I know, I'm a bit anti-social. It's a learned attitude. I learned it quickly when I moved down here to Columbus. I'm not too impressed with anything that walks up-right and talks. They tend to say and do too many things that rub sane people the wrong way.

Hey, last night, did your lights go out?

No!

I didn't think so. When my electricity popped off, I went to the door to see if the rest of you lost yours. It was strange. My house seemed to be the only one without power.

Your lights were on. My neighbors to the left and to the right of me, their lights were on.

I thought it was strange. I reset the breaker but, that didn't help.

I called the electric company and they said that they were getting reports of power outages in our area.

Funny you all weren't affected.

It took the electricians 5 hours to get to our street. Can you believe that, 5 hours!

I heard all this rumbling and roaring on the street announcing that they were finally here which, was a little after midnight. It only took them about half an hour or so to get us back up and running.

Oh well, go figure.

Would you like a cup-a-jo? Sit down while I get it.

going, Going, GONE!

Going

Going

Gone!

Hey there!

It's your neighbor, yes I'm right there in the house across from you.

Or, I'm down the street and around the corner.

I got up this morning and was feeling pretty fine. It's kind of cloudy and looks like rain in the forecast.

I love living on my street. It's quiet. The neighbors are great. They're great because I never hear them and rarely see them. Definitely the makings of a great quiet neighborhood.

As I said I woke up feeling pretty good. 'Cept'n, I thought about those two Lyndas, you know the ones I wrote about earlier. They've got me typing up papers for court. Yes, Jr. really is going to try and represent her self.

What's that old saying "the person who represents him/herself has a lawyer for a fool"
Need I say more!

Oh well, I'd rather think about breakfast right now. Then I'll tackle the Lynda's task later.

You know, I'm wondering.

When people have a nice little house and a nice backyard, why must they sit out in the front on a little patch of cement at their front door?

What's wrong with the back patio? I personally think people who behave like this, have no sense of decorum, no sense of class, just plain ghetto backwards.

Am I being snooty or snobbish. If I am -- oh well, that's what I think.

Back to food. I'm feeling like bacon and eggs this morning. I just have to remember when I'm done cooking I better get my plate or there'll be none left for the cook.

We're talking piggish here!

Excitement For Us Today

Columbus Ohio

President Obama at CPD Recruit Graduation

President Obama came to Columbus to attend the graduation of police recruits.

Mayor Colman had put in a request for help from the stimulus package and received monies. With that money the City can now pay the new recruits.

Talk about excitement. My best friend was beside herself. She acted as if she'd just won the lottery.

I told her "why don't you try to go down and see him" She said "We can't get any where near downtown"

She's right, security was tighter than a cemented fist. Roads were blocked at least a mile in all four directions. I'm so glad the City of Columbus is able to pay for more police. Crime here is terrible.

These low-lifes are now breaking and entering in broad day light with people home.

Talk about nerve!

I'm glad I have Bessie and her sisters "9M". I also have Bessie's younger cousin "Bobby Club". My son has met Bobby quite a few times.

Makes me wonder..."Did any of these criminals ever received a good old fashioned butt whoop'n!"

I Now Understand....

WHY...

Some species eat their young.

I look at my child, yes he's grown but, he's still my child, and wonder why the "lights are on but nobody's home!"

A Neighborhood Saga

There's someone like me near you. Just saunter down the tree-lined street and turn the corner. I'm that someone living in the house across the road, one much like your own.

Today is my birthday and I thought this would be a good day to start another blog. I've got a couple of other blogs but this one will be a bit more personal.

My friend Lynda just dropped me off. She was nice enough to take me out for a birthday breakfast.

Now, I'm back and sitting in front of my computer munching Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies.

Munching helps me think.

Doesn't it you?

It doesn't!

What helps you think, smoking? One stick after another? How about tugging on your ear or scratching your head. Something must get your thought processes going.

Well, let me get back to Lynda; she's a dear friend but, I must say she, and her daughter [who's name is also Lynda] is a real piece of work.

Don't get me wrong, she's the type of person, that once you get to know her, she'd give you the shirt off her back. The problem is getting to know her.

Bobbsie- Lyns [Lynda and Lynda] have secrets. I mean deep-dark-inquiring-minds want to know secrets.

I know, I know, all people have secrets but, these two would have Mrs. Fletcher or Magnum P.I. getting out their shovels and magnifying glasses.

It seems that Lynda Jr. was/is married. What's surprise me, and everyone else who knows them, is that Lynda Sr. says she didn't know her daughter was married.

Come on!

How does a Mother not know her child is married?

Jr. says she's been married for about ten years. She hasn't live with her husband for the past six. Now she wants to divorce him. Seems he's living with another woman and wants to marry her.

Pretty cut and dry right?

Now, comes the sneaky part. Lynda and Lynda I mean.

Sr. called me and wanted me to sign an affidavit stating that I had seen Jr's. soon to be ex. over at the house. They want to show that they were a real married couple. Meaning they've been living together as man and wife.

I've never seen the man! Sr. said "yes you have" I said "no I haven't" Sr. "yes you have" me, "no I haven't". It got started to get ugly.

I'd remember if I had seen the man before. She wanted me to lie. Sr. knew darn well I'd never laid eyes on that man.

Jr. says her soon to be ex. promised to pay her alimony for the rest of her life. She also wants half of his retirement. She claims that they wrote up a document four years ago stating he would follow through with these promises. She says that they went before the notary and had this alleged document notarized.

When it came time to go to court a few weeks ago, Jrs. lawyers didn't file this notarized document with the court. So of course she didn't get what she claims was promised.

To shorten this new saga, Jr. fired two lawyers and is now representing herself. She's going to court next week.

There will be more to this story and when I feel like untangling their web of intrigue again, I'll write more.

Till then, look for me, I'll be walking the dog or raking the yard.
